The U.A.E. is situated on the north east corner of the Arabian Peninsula, and bordered by The Sultanate of Oman to the east and north. The U.A.E. is formed of seven emirates, of which Abu Dhabi is the capital and Dubai the most cosmopolitan tourist destination. Early settlement began in the period 8000 BC and therefore the country is steeped in great history, tradition and culture.
The U.A.E. is indeed a 21st century phenomenon. In only forty years, Dubai has grown from a small traditional trading port to a sophisticated international commercial and tourist destination. In this period, Abu Dhabi has also transformed itself into a modern metropolis. Both cities are situated on the azure blue waters off the Arabian Gulf, which allow you to enjoy both a mix of city and beach during your stay.
Modern yet traditional, sophisticated yet simple, your holiday options are endless, as the U.A.E. offers many experiences in the one region.
The Sultanate of Oman is an emerging exotic destination offering authentic city and desert experiences. Muscat is the capital and again offers a blend of the old and new. The Sultanate of Oman is known for its captivating natural beauty in the stunning Hajar mountain ranges, endless desert sands of Wahiba, seasonal oasis of greenery at Salalah, and breathtaking pristine coastline.
The Musandam Peninsula is situated on the northern most point of the Sultanate of Oman, with the Arabian Gulf to the west and Gulf of Oman to the east, and separated from the rest of the country by the north east coast of the U.A.E. This naturally magnificent Peninsula offers dramatic scenery of rugged mountain ranges, traditional villages, and fjords.
Qatar is an 11,437 sq km peninsula that juts out of the southwest corner of the Arabian Gulf, and is ruled by an Emir. Apart from dunes in the south and hills in the west, Qatar consists of mainly flat low lying rocky desert and coastal salt flats. The peninsula has a 563 km sandy coastline with numerous small islets, sand bars and reefs. Souks, forts and naturally stunning scenery such as the Inland Sea and the Empty Quarter. Doha, the capital, is a modern, bustling and economically rich and diverse city.
